Tiger Woods made it clear Tuesday that he will not be joining the European Tour in 2013. He will remain only a member of the PGA Tour. Woods cited concerns that it would distract from his preparation for the majors.
Both Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald won the PGA Tour and European Tour money titles the past two years as dual members. Tiger could have done the same at least four times over the past decade had he been a member of the European Tour. Many of Europe’s top players are dual members including Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Greame McDowell and now Martin Kaymer and Nicolas Colsaerts who announced last week their intention to join the PGA Tour.
